**Planting Instructions:**

* **Soil Preparation:** Choose a well-drained, fertile soil for planting. Tokyo Long White Bunching Onions thrive in soil that is rich in organic matter. Work compost or well-rotted manure into the soil to enhance its fertility.

* **Planting Time:** You can sow the seeds directly into the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. These onions are also suitable for fall planting.

* **Sowing:** Plant the seeds about 1/4 inch deep and space them 1 inch apart in rows. For multiple rows, space the rows 12 inches apart.

* **Watering:** Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells. Adequate moisture is essential for the development of plump, flavorful onions.

* **Thinning:** Once the seedlings are a few inches tall, thin them to leave about 3-4 inches of space between each plant. This allows room for the bulbs to grow.

**Health Benefits:**

Tokyo Long White Bunching Onions offer numerous health benefits:

1. **Low in Calories:** These onions are low in calories and can be enjoyed in various dishes without adding excess calories.

2. **Rich in Vitamins:** They are a good source of vitamins A and C, which are essential for overall health and immune support.

3. **Antioxidants:** Tokyo Long White Bunching Onions contain antioxidants that help protect your cells from oxidative damage.

4. **Mild Flavor:** They add a mild, oniony flavor to your dishes without the sharpness of regular onions, making them suitable for raw or cooked recipes.

    Great Green Onion

Posted by Ken Nipper on 26th Jul 2016

I have grown these for a couple of years now and they are great tasting and not hot at all. A good medium to mild taste. Plant seeds about every three months to have them year round. The plants also last good through the hot summer of south Georgia. I have some plants that are 18 months old and are still tender.
