The Gilia Tricolor can invade big patches of ground once its seed has been sown on the ground and its roots are established in the earth. It is lavender and pink and has white petals; it attracts bees and butterflies, because of its deep blue pollen. The Gilia Tricolor has green leaves and when matured it can be grow up to 3 feet tall. It does off with the first frost, but then will grow again in spring the following year. In milder climates, it re-seeds and the seeds can be sown inside 6 weeks prior to the last frost.
