**Planting Instructions:**

* **Soil Preparation:** Choose a well-drained, fertile soil for planting. Texas Early Grano 502 PRR Short Day Onions thrive in soil that is rich in organic matter. Work compost or well-rotted manure into the soil to enhance its fertility.

* **Planting Time:** Sow the seeds directly into the garden in late fall or early winter for a spring harvest. These onions are considered short-day onions, suitable for regions with shorter daylight hours.

* **Sowing:** Plant the seeds about 1/4 inch deep and space them 3-4 inches apart in rows. For multiple rows, space the rows 12-18 inches apart.

* **Watering:** Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells. Adequate moisture is essential for the development of plump, flavorful onions.

* **Thinning:** Once the seedlings are a few inches tall, thin them to leave about 3-4 inches of space between each plant. This allows room for the bulbs to grow.

**Health Benefits:**

Texas Early Grano 502 PRR Short Day Onions offer numerous health benefits:

1. **Low in Calories:** These onions are low in calories and can be enjoyed in various dishes without adding excess calories.

2. **Rich in Vitamins:** They are a good source of vitamins C and B6, which are essential for overall health and immune support.

3. **Antioxidants:** Texas Early Grano 502 PRR Short Day Onions contain antioxidants that help protect your cells from oxidative damage.

4. **Delicious Flavor:** They add a mild, sweet onion flavor to your dishes, making them versatile for both raw and cooked recipes.

    Near 100% Germination Rate

Posted by Dane on 10th Nov 2016

Fir years I have struggled to find a source of an onion variety that will germinate at a high rate. Purchased these last last year. Planted some in October 2015 and October 2016. Both years I would say 98%+ of the seeds germinated. Last years crop produced hundreds of tennis ball sized yellow onions that I froze for soup.
